Tony Wong
Dentist

BDS MFDS RCS Ed PGC (Clinical Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry) PG Dip Prosthodontics
Tony qualified as a dentist from University of Bristol in 2008. He has a special interest in cosmetic and restorative dentistry and holds a well recognised postgraduate certificate in restorative dentistry and diploma in prosthodontics under the tutelage of Professor Paul Tipton. He is an active member of the Royal College of Surgeons and SAAD dental sedation. He is also a Dental Trainer/Education Supervisor for South East London.
Tony is an enthusiastic and empathetic dentist who strives to improve oral health through patient education and evidence based clinical procedures. He takes pride in his work and passionate about working with patients to discover the best restorative options to suit their needs. He understands the importance of implementing evidence based dentistry and has an excellent, yet continually improving treatment success rate. Tony is highly regarded amongst peers and patients alike for his brilliant clinical acumen and his gentle, caring chair-side manner. He regularly works with highly anxious patients and is trained to provide intravenous sedation.
Tony is equipped with the latest direct composite bonding techniques and has a wealth of experience in veneers, crowns and bridgework. He also offers a range of cosmetic orthodontic solutions including Invisalign clear braces and Inman Aligner for a complete smile design.
His experience at the Royal Berkshire Hospital and John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford has equipped Tony with both technical skills and confidence in oral surgery. He is able to perform complex tooth/wisdom tooth extractions.
Tony is committed to his professional development and education, to ensure he practices modern and up to date dental techniques and procedures to the highest standard.
He believes in giving back and serving communities and is involved with charity and missionary work. He has been in feed the homeless programmes and has also been involved in a charity missionary project in Puerto Plata to help less privileged communities build clean water lines. He serves at his local church and is passionate about loving God and serving others.
Shailesh Sharma
Dentist
GDC: 73908
Shailesh qualified from Guy's and St. Thomas's Hospital in 1997 and has been in private practice for over 20 years. This has given him a wealth of experience will all aspects of general dentistry. His area of focus is in providing high quality aesthetic treatments, especially with regards to adhesive dentistry and Invisalign. Shailesh has attended several postgraduate courses and has attained a Certificate in Aesthetic Dentistry from Guy's Hospital.
Shailesh is an Elite provider of Invisalign, the highest level attainable.
His calm approach to patient centred care makes him very good with nervous patients and young children.
Outside of dentistry Shailesh enjoys golf and the theatre.
Hannah Mason
Dentist

Dr Hannah Mason graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2015. She has worked in both the North of England and the London area as a general dentist since.
Hannah has a passion for cosmetic dentistry and has completed a postgraduate certificate in Restorative Dentistry. She has also attended a smile makeover course and firmly believes in the value of building her knowledge within dentistry. She does this through attending courses and keeping up to date with the latest techniques.
With a gentle and affable manner, Hannah ensures her patient’s are put at ease. She strongly believes in a collaborative approach and empowers her patients to make the best decision for them.
Catherine Evans
Dentist

BDS University of Manchester 2012. Postgraduate Certificate in Restorative Dentistry
Dr Catherine Evans qualified from Manchester Dental School in 2012. Following graduation, she was appointed a foundation training role in River Alt Centre for Dental Excellence, as part of Liverpool Community Health. During this time, she treated special needs patients, vulnerable adults and children and patients with extreme dental phobia. She has a calm bedside manner and ability to help even the most nervous patients feel at ease.
Since 2013, Dr Catherine Evans has been working in general dental practice. She is constantly striving to improve her knowledge and skills and keep up to date with continued professional development. In 2017 she enrolled in a one year course in restorative dentistry, enabling her to treat patients with more complex oral health needs. She passed her exam and gained membership to the British Academy of Restorative Dentistry.
Dr Evans is passionate cosmetic dentistry and the importance of a beautiful smile on an individual’s self-confidence. She is keen to specialise in this field and is currently in her third year of a three-year masters programme at King’s College London. Here she is receiving teaching from world class and highly experience clinical dentists.
In her spare time, Dr Catherine Evans enjoys running yoga and cycling. She also rows competitively in East London and travels across the country for regattas. She loves travel and spending time with friends and family.
Stefanie Burke
Dental Hygienist
GDC: 267934
Stefanie qualified as a Dental Hygienist in 2011 in Ottawa, Canada from the Canadian National Institute of Health. She has worked as a hygienist in London since 2016.
Stefanie is passionate about her role in improving the oral health of others, as well as educating her patients on how to sustain healthy teeth and gums. She is always eager to increase her knowledge in dental hygiene care with continuing education courses which she attends regularly.
She has completed courses in teeth whitening and non-surgical periodontal therapy and carries out these treatments within the practice.
Stefanie is happy to answer any questions and take her time to get to know her patients and do whatever she can do make each visit with her a pleasant one.

Your First Dental VisitYour first dental visit promises to be a pleasant experience. Whether you need to see the dentist for a new patient examination or the hygienist for teeth cleaning, it is our priority to keep your mouth looking and feeling healthy, and prevent tooth decay and gum disease. Make a list of questions to ask our team, so you don’t forget anything on the day of your appointment. This includes any concerns you have, or oral problems you’ve been experiencing. If you have dental insurance, remember to bring your insurance form with you.

Booking AppointmentsWe will try to offer you an appointment as soon as possible at a convenient time. To register or book your appointment you can either call us on 0 208 788 6688, drop in to see us during our opening hours, e-mail a request for appointments to reception@peninsuladentists.co.uk, or do it all online by filling in the contact form. A member of our reception team will get back to you as soon as possible to confirm the booking. Payment is due at the time of dental treatment and a deposit payment is required to secure your booking. We accept all major credit and debit cards including American Express

Cancellations and Failed AppointmentsIf you are unable to keep your appointment please let us know as soon as possible so we can give your appointment to someone else. We ask for at least 24 hours if you are unable to attend. Failure to do this may result in a charge relevant to your appointment length. Dental EmergenciesA knocked out tooth or bitten tongue can cause panic in any parent, but quick thinking and staying calm are the best ways to approach such common dental emergencies and prevent additional unnecessary damage and costly dental restoration. This includes taking measures such as application of cold compresses to reduce swelling, and of course, contacting our practice as soon as possible. In the event of an emergency, patients are requested to telephone the dental surgery as early as possible and every effort will be made for you to be seen by a dentist. We recommend contacting the surgery before 9:30 am in order to be seen on the same day.

Your Dental RecordsWhen you come in for your first appointment we will require you to fill in a current medical history form to assist our diagnosis and treatment. This is strictly confidential. We may ask you about any drugs you are taking please make a note of their names and tell us about them when you attend. If you change your address or telephone number please let us know as soon as possible.

ConfidentialityAt Peninsula Dentists strict confidentiality of patient records is maintained at all times. All staff must follow the General Dental Council’s rules for maintaining patient confidentiality contained in standards for dental professionals and principles of patient confidentiality. Records will not be passed onto third parties without the patients permission.

Nervous PatientsWe understand that many patients can become quite anxious when faced with dental treatment. To help make our nervous patients feel more relaxed, we offer Dental Sedation. Conscious sedation is used to relax you during your dental treatment; while you are sedated you are still able to communicate and respond to simple instructions but will be in an altered state of consciousness once the sedative has been administered. Sedation medications are considered lighter and safer than general anaesthetic. If you have been putting off dental treatment due to fear, anxiety or problems with anaesthetic, please get in touch for more information or a complimentary consultation.

Facilities for Disabled PatientsAt Peninsula Dentists we have special facilities to assist people in wheelchairs. Our main entrance is on the ground floor level and our toilet facilities are designed for wheelchair access.
